Police arrest grandson in connection with body found in plastic bags inside Queens home

After finding the remains of 85-year-old Erika Kraus Breslin sealed in a plastic bag at a Ridgewood residence last night, police have arrested the woman’s 30-year-old grandson, Christopher Fuhrer on charges of not reporting the death to a health officer, burial/body removal without a permit and improper burial.

At around 3:15 p.m. on Oct. 5, police responded to the home, located at 67-08 65th Street to conduct a wellness check on the woman at the request of a family member. When they arrived at the scene, Fuhrer directed to the officers to the bedroom where they discovered the victim unresponsive inside of plastic bags.

Fuhrer was taken into custody at the scene and the investigation remains ongoing. According to the NY Post, the remains may have been there for approximately five months.
