The New York City Department of Transportation has rescheduled the one-day pedestrian plaza event that will close a portion of Wyckoff Avenue between Myrtle Avenue and Palmetto street to vehicular traffic. The closure will now take place on Saturday, April 30 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Last month, the DOT met with residents from Queens CB5 and Brooklyn CB4 to discuss the plaza, which is aimed at dealing with the confusing and often dangerous Myrtle/Palmetto/Wyckoff triangle to reduce the hazard to pedestrians, as part of the de Blasio administration’s Vision Zero plan.
Representatives from the DOT will be on hand to speak with residents and answer any questions they might have concerning the proposal, which will be reviewed by the community boards sometime this spring.
