The Ridgewood Tenants Union organized a rally outside a building owned by Silvershore Properties on Tuesday. The group, joined by Councilman Antonio Reynoso charged that the property management group is trying to displace long-term, stabilized tenants.

According to the Ridgewood Tenants Union’s Facebook page, Silvershore Properties purchased the building at 1708 Summerfield Street last year (which is confirmed by NYC property tax records). Since then, according to the Ridgewood Tenants Union, they have engaged in tactics to displace long-term tenants from their rent-stabilized apartments.

Dozens of supporters organized on Tuesday morning at 9 a.m in front of the property to protest.
